That is the way it should be if you have lots of sunshine. It saves electricity, and the clothes smell so much nicer too.

In Malaysia, we do not have drier - but lots of sunshine. So you will see lots of clothes hanging all over the place.

That's what I notice too Chuck, the fresh smell of clothes that dried outside.

Of course growing up my Mom didn't work, so it wasn't a problem for her to bring the washing in if it started to rain, whereas these days if both of you are out at work and it starts to rain, there isn't much that you can do about it.

I have to admit that I am not a big fan of these highly scented softeners, especially when the smell lingers on your clothes, but the smell of fresh air is really nice.

The other thing that I find strange is that when I was little, a soft towel meant everything, and a hard scratchy one was just horrible. Now, I really enjoy drying myself with a harder towel, and having a really good scratch as I dry. Funny how times change as you get older isn't it.

Back in the day my mom hung the clothes out until we got a dryer. The thing I remember was how Fresh the clothes smelled! When we lived in Ireland, we used the dryer in our small rental house, but our neighbors hung theirs out. I suggested we do the same and got "the look". I didn't do that again. :)I really don't think we appreciate how much labor our labor saving devises save us! But I still miss that fresh smell.
