Our Blog Is Almost Two Years Old

It’s hard to believe that the first post was published on our blog on New Years Eve 2008, which is almost 2 years ago.

I had great hopes for this site, and Debbie and I spent a while trying to come up with a good domain name, the meaning of which you can see if you visit our About page.

At the time of creating the blog, both Debbie and I were creating lenses on Squidoo, as well as being involved on a new site Tagfoot as mentors.

I was also still living in Florida, with Debbie in the UK, and we were still 7 months away from my moving back to the UK so that we could be together all the time.

Over the months Debbie found it hard to get enthusiastic about writing, and so most of the articles in the last year have been up to me.   I also found it hard to work a full time job, create lenses on Squidoo, write articles on Associated Content, and try to earn money online to suplement my income from my full time job.

As a result, some weeks have seen just two articles published on here.  Firstly an automatic post that features my Tweets on Twitter for the previous week, and secondly a post that highlights the articles that I have published on Associated Content in the last week.

At this time I am not 100% sure which direction the blog is going in, since I would dearly love for Debbie to be writing again, since she has a lot of experience in dealing with children with emotional and behavioral problems, and also she has been ill recently and could write a wonderful diary on her history of Meniere’s Disease.

I have been posting shopping bargains and special offers as well, which is another area of diversity, and so in some ways it might be a good idea to create multiple blogs rather than just have this solitary one.

The one thing that will not change in 2011 is that the blog will go on, and hopefully if things continue to go well for us, Debbie will come back and write more, and give our readers more to think about and to enjoy.

If you do enjoy this blog, please can you give us a Thumbs Up on Facebook or any other social sites that you use, and hopefully our readership will grow over the coming year, as will the number of our articles.

Merry Christmas to you all and a Happy and Prosperous New Year for 2011.
Tony & Debbie

  • It’s often hard for people with young children to eat out, because they rarely sit still, get impatient, and won’t eat to a pattern. Learn how eating at a buffet restaurant allows parents with younger children to eat out comfortably.
  • It’s not easy for a couple with a young baby to eat out, because babies cry, need to be rocked and also need to be fed. Dining at a buffet restaurant can allow parents to eat out comfortably with their baby. It’s great for weekend breakfasts too.
  • The City Of Miami is investigating a construction company that was paid to put in 4 miles of underground tunnels and 254 access manholes, because the tunnels can’t be found. What happened to the tunnels?
  • The National Trust helps preserve over 350 ancient monuments, historic houses and gardens and opens them to the public. This is a list of the National Trust properties in Bedfordshire.
  • In this edition of Offbeat News, Japan loses thousands of old people, George Bush runs from police, a Nasty Niff and it’s not fish, child and baby cruelty in Florida, and man claims his cat downloaded indecent images.
  • Why is it that when something goes wrong, no matter what it is, that it happens in the middle of the night, at a point where you are in a deep sleep, and the timing makes it hard to fall back to sleep.
  • Like most small boys I have always been fascinated by fire and lighting fires. This is a story of how I almost set fire to our local woods.
  • Today Prince William, who is second in line to the throne, is set to graduate as a search and rescue helicopter pilot with the RAF, and will be based at RAF Valley on the Isle of Anglesey.
  • With Robert Pattinson and Emma Watson possibly set to star in a remake of the movie Dark Arc, are we likely to see things get steamy between them? Their last movie together was Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire.
  • The National Trust helps preserve over 350 ancient monuments, historic houses and gardens and opens them to the public. National Trust properties in Berkshire include Ashdown House, Basildon Park and Runnymede.
  • While I enjoy watching Survivor on CBS, I do wish that someone would create a television series showing people really surviving on a desert island without all the fun and games.
  • Amanda flies out to join a team of archaeologists who are investigating a site of interest on a small island. But something is not right with this story. Can you solve the mystery?
  • I went outside this morning to put some garbage in the bin, and there in the front garden by the bins were these wonderful seed pods just opening. I am pretty sure they are Stinking Iris from Googling them.
