My wife let on that I might need batteries for the camera at the weekend, and had me puzzled for a couple of days as to what my birthday treat would be. In the end it was a very pleasant and unexpected surprise.

Contrails is a poem that I wrote based on what I saw out of the back door this morning, turquoise skies and a lot of contrails, jets flying off to exotic destinations.
