The Money Tree

the money treeI wish that we had a money tree
So that life could be simpler for you and me

We wouldn’t have to work our lives away
Hoping retirement will come one day

When retiring I wonder will we still have good health
With enough money to live on, let alone wealth

Those vacations we dreamed of so impossible seem
There just isn’t enough money to realise those dreams

It’s all we can do to work hard and save
For an overseas trip, one of these days

With our children now living in distant lands
Trips to go see them are all we can plan

But alas we can barely pay for those trips
Let alone dream of others, with savings of zip

So for leisure we go out and take country strolls
And save every penny for our important goals

Because family and kids are things that we miss
So we save hard all year for that big hug and kiss

Maybe some day soon a new life can begin
If we manage to get a big lottery win

But hope as we might, for this fanciful chance
So far lady luck hasn’t given us a glance

Oh I just wish that we could win the lottery
Or if not, find ourselves a real money tree

The Luck of the Irish – Limerick Love Second Time Around

Last year on Associated Content there was a competition for writers to publish Limericks for Saint Patrick’s Day.

A wonderful competition it was too, and I read many fine poems, yet being new to Associated Content myself, many of my poems received very little traffic, which was disheartening.

Article Summary 8th November 2010

This is a list of articles that I have written on Associated Content in the last week, I hope you will take a look at them and also enjoy them.

I write on a number of topics, usually it depends on what comes into my head on any given day, so it could be a travel story, memoirs from my life, something from the daily news, or even a poem inspired by something.

This is what I have published in the last week, enjoy:

I also joined a new site recently, Best Reviewer, which allows you to create review lists and to get paid using Google Adsense Revenue Sharing.   These are the most recent Best Reviews that I have created:

If you enjoy my writings, poetry and photographs, why not register with Associated Content, and then you can get an email every time I publish something.

So Close To 100,000 Page Views – Can You Help Me To Reach My Target Today?

I just saw that I am only 776  Page Views away from 100,000 which would be a great target to reach today, but with visitors to my articles on Associated Content being really slow this month, I am not confident I can make it.

Have you read any of my articles on Associated Content lately, if at all?

I joined in January and currently have 343 articles, which include my writing about a myriad of different topics, as well as publishing slide shows of places that I have been to, writing poems, and there is even one audio poem if you ever wondered what I sound like (I hate the sound of my voice by the way).

If you have a few minutes, would you be able to help me to reach my target by reading any of my articles, or viewing my slideshows etc?

Each page that you view counts as One Page View (it’s that simple for once), so if you find an article that is three pages long and read each page, that’s three Page Views.

Any help that you can give would be much appreciated, and if you do find something that you like, there are links at the bottom left of the page below each article, where you can share it using Twitter, Facebook, and a number of other sites as well.

Thanks so much for helping in advance, for accelerating me past this huge target and on to the next, and for being a good friend.

Typos Typos Everywhere

When I published my poem Typos Typos Everywhere, which is about typos, I little thought that I would get a lot of traffic from it.

My traffic hopes for Friday were therefore based on a news article about passengers stranded on a plane in Scotland, but when I just looked, this had only 51 page veiws! Drat!

However, I did get almost 900 page views for my poem on Friday, but I haven’t got a clue where from.

It wasn’t Stumbleupon, could be via RSS Feeds though, or just because people are searching for the title, which I decided upon because I thought it was a catchy title.

It seems “Typos Typos Everywhere” is some sort of Sci-Fi short movie. Go figure…

So with my article being number one on Yahoo (thanks Yahoo) and on the 1st page on Google and Bing, I assume it’s searches that are getting the traffic for me.

Sometimes, those page views come in for the most unlikely reasons.
