SOME TESCO PHONE RATES ARE INCREASING BY 50%
With everything else in the UK going up in price, why am I not surprised to see the Tesco are increasing their mobile phone tariffs as well, as from 28th February 2011.
While some rates are only going up by a small amount, their rates for Pay As You Go Phones are increasing by much more.
To quote the page on their web site “You’ll notice a slight difference with some of your call rates, which are summarised in the table below”, however in the table “below” it shows the per minute rate on the Standard Tariff to UK Mobiles and Landlines rising from 20p to 25p.
Forgive me if I am wrong, but isn’t that a 25% increase, which is way above the rate of inflation!
Now we come to the Extra Tariff, which is what I am on.
The per minute rate to UK Mobiles and Landlines here is going up from 10p to 15p.
WHAT ARE YOU PLAYING AT TESCO – THAT’S A 50% INCREASE !
I have a funny feeling that they are trying to force people off of their Pay As You Go Phone plans, and at this rate they just might, but I think they just might push people away to other phone companies with pricing increases like this.
If it were not for the fact that I normally only make a couple of calls a week, and do need to have a mobile phone in case of emergencies, I would quite happily tell them where they could stick their SIM card…
